Cycle / Fracture / Opportunity

Duncan Ross

Duncan is a visual artist working in the fields of participatory public art and narrative drawing. He has produced the graphic identity for WATER WORKS, including the range of illustrations, typefaces, colour palettes, and characters that you will see across all of our online and printed material.

As if that wasn’t enough, PS2 also commissioned him to design these three spectacular banners with reference to the history, recent past and future possibilities of the river. The first relates to myth and the organic source of the river (‘A cycle: of elements, of natural phenomena, of stories and of passage’); the second to the recent past’s commerce and concealment (‘A fracture: an ecology interrupted by infrastructure and industry’); and, finally, to the parallel paths presented to us in securing our river’s future (‘An opportunity: hope and caution for what lies ahead and beneath’).
