Yacht Rock Karaoke
What is yacht rock? Characterized by slow-to-mid tempos, occasional nautical references, and whole cans of hairspray, the genre offers (according to Wikipedia) ‘reassuringly vague escapism’. And who doesn’t want that??
Join Ceardha ‘Captain’ Morgan and Emma ‘Lost at Seaman’ Campbell, who will lead the boat-costumed masses in loosening up our pipes for the second spectacular culmination of the WATER WORKS project in one day. It ain’t over til it’s over.
Tickets are £11.55, with all proceeds going to Lagan Search and Rescue and the Royal National Lifeboat Insitution (RNLI).

Make Sail!
All hands, make sail, ahoy! This open-to-all workshop does exactly what it says on the tin - come and design and decorate your own sail for display in our CastleCourt space, Here’s One I Made Earlier.
Whether you are making small sails for a little boat, or would like to contribute to a gigantic patchwork sail, we would love to sea you (get it?). Our massive, collaborative sail will be part of our event in August, where we’ll set off 10,000 boats on the Lagan, accompanied by performances and processions.

Boat Club
Unit 40 (first floor)
CastleCourt Shopping Centre
Boat Club is a casual series of free workshops for toy boat building. It is aimed for people who have time in the morning, are keen on making and like to have some company whilst constructing.
The building of many small boats, apart from some big ones, is an easy way to claim access to the river Lagan in an event in August. You don’t need any technical expertise, and all materials are provided.

📣 SPEED BOAAATS! 📣
Right. So we have (at a rough count), around 2,500 boats.
But we need your help to get to 10,000! We're holding a marathon making session in 2 Royal Avenue on Sunday 7 July from 12pm - 2pm to help you get your boat on. From 2pm - 3pm, we'll be hosting a competition! We're looking for six people who think they can fold A LOT of boats, REALLY, REALLY FAST.
Sound like you? Email jane@pssquared.org to sign up. There will be prizes!

If it floats...
Draw a boat, build a boat, name a boat. Get your thinking cap on (and captain's hat) and design some new wild and wonderful boats for the Lagan to be entered into our competition.
We’re looking for your most adventurous designs - either drawings or physical boats - to be part of the 10,000 boat flotilla in early August.

Boatcha Kucha
Boatcha Kucha
Thursday 4 July,7pm – 9pm
The American Bar, 65 Dock Street, BT15 1LF
Calling all storytellers!
Boatcha Kucha has the same simple, quick-fire format as the name of the presentation style that we ripped off – presenters show 20 images, each for 20 seconds. That means just 6 minutes and 40 seconds of showboating per person.
There are A LOT of boat-themed puns and idioms, and we’ve certainly been using our fair share. This is an opportunity for you to get them all out of your system through a water-y topic of your choosing: whether you missed the boat, muddied the waters, burned a bridge, are waiting for your boat to come in, or rocked the boat. Whatever floats your… (sorry, we can’t help it).
To participate, email jane@pssquared.org by Friday 28 June with a very brief overview - max. 10 words - of your proposed topic. We have 10 spots available. Don’t miss the … (aaaaargh!)

Selfie boards on tour: Oh we do like to be beside the Lagan!
Our selfie boards are going on tour!
We commissioned these adorable selfie boards from artists Laura Nelson and Leo Boyd (more here) to encourage people to think about the riverside in the way that we do the seaside. Stick yer bake in the board and see for yourself!
If you spot us out and about, take a pic and share it on Instagram, tagging @pssquared and we’ll re-share 🤩

Boatbuilding for Creatives Part II: We’re Gonna Need a Bigger Boat
Everybody loved the last workshop and lots of people said they were extremely sad face to miss it. Now we’re super-excited to be able to do it again, and bigger this time!
Boatbuilding for Creatives Part II: We’re Gonna Need a Bigger Boat is a 4-hour long drop-in workshop taking place downstairs at Vault’s city centre Gallery | Project Space and facilitated by artists Leo Boyd & Laura Nelson.
We made the duration longer to allow more time to get creative and expand our minds. The workshop is open to everyone and is absolutely free.
So come along, drop-in, build your first boat or your 100th, a surrealist skiff, a cubist coracle or DADA tall ship and then we’ll see if they float in the inflatable paddling pool.
